We Belong Here: Upcoming Housing Justice Workshops

Low-income communities of color continue to be pushed out of the Bay Area, not by accident but due to destabilizing policies. Our communities are fighting back to protect our neighborhoods and make it clear: we belong here.

Join our Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute for a 2-part series on housing justice and anti-displacement organizing to understand how we got here and learn how to build community power to fight back.

We Belong Here: Housing Justice and Anti-Displacement Organizing

Part 1 –  Thursday, April 2, 7:00-8:00pm: Housing Justice 101 is a webinar on the historical roots of racial inequities in our housing system and the current crises of displacement and resegregation. This is the context to understanding what’s happening, how we got here, and to take action.

Part 2 – Saturday, April 25, 11:00am – 12:30pm: Fighting for South Berkeley is an in-person session featuring community organizers leading the fight against Black displacement. Learn how they are advancing a powerful vision for a right to stay, right to return, and right to thrive for all South Berkeley residents.
