Rising Juntos
Rising Juntos is a community-driven organization that builds leadership and power to advance racial, economic, and health justice for Contra Costa County children and families.
With a membership of over 200 resident leaders, Rising Juntos supports underrepresented Black and Brown families in advancing community priorities and equitable public policies. Building on a 20-year track record of proven resident organizing as the West, Central and East County Regional Groups, Rising Juntos has emerged as an independent, community-powered force, ready to expand our movement for healthy, safe, and equitable communities.
Our focus areas:
- Housing & Economic Security
We advocate for economic justice, including affordable, stable housing, home ownership, and wealth building. - Park & Land Use
We secure public investments to ensure all children grow up playing in quality parks and healthy, safe communities. - Equitable Representation
We advance equitable representation by building power, engaging voters, and increasing fair public decision-making. - Racial & Immigrant Justice
We advocate for just, accountable systems that foster health, safety, dignity, and freedom for all children and families.
Our strategies include:
- Resident Leadership
We support resident leadership through political education, coaching, and collective action. We build a diverse base of youth, parents and seniors to lead. - Community Organizing
We increase our power by bringing families into our movement, forging cross-cultural unity, and building strategic partnerships to shape our communities. - Policy Advocacy
We advocate for public policies for healthy children and equitable communities. We address families’ needs, shift narratives, and increase political power.
