Transportation Justice Working Group
The Transportation Justice Working Group (TJWG) is made up of individuals and organizations from throughout the Bay Area who come together once monthly to coordinate our work towards more equitable transit. The TJWG is part of the Social Equity Caucus and is facilitated by Urban Habitat. The TJWG raises awareness among community groups and decision makers of the discriminatory consequences of our current transportation policy-making. We document the unequal benefits and burdens of our transportation system and we defend the transit rights of low income families and communities of color. Read more.
Great Communities CollaborativeOver the next five years the Bay Area will have a once in a generation opportunity to plan 100 new station areas along rapid transit stations and transit corridors. UHP will partner with the Greenbelt, NPH and TALC to ensure that half of all new homes are in walkable communities located near transit and at all affordable prices to families of varying income levels. The core partners will work with community groups to ensure that the plans preserve local assets and identify and fund needed services and amenities. Read more.
