2008-09 Strategic Plan
As Urban Habitat approached the Bay Area Social Equity Caucus’ 10th anniversary, we felt it was key to engage current and previous members, funders, and allies to document past successes and identify opportunities to further refine our approach over the coming decade. Dozens of organizations lent time, energy and thoughtfulness to our Evaluation & Planning Project.
Working with the Institute for Social and Environmental Justice Education (ISEJE), the Bay Area Social Equity Caucus staff developed this document to help plan how the Caucus will grow over the next 2 years.
Over the coming years, the Bay Area SEC will intentionally cultivate decision-makers who are responsive to and representative of our communities – communities who have not historically played a role in shaping this region. Our long-term goal is to emerge as a united force with the power to move decisionmaker & public opinion in support of working class people and people of color.
During 2008-09 we're rolling out several new regional programs designed to increase the scope and scale of the coalition’s impact. These new programs include an annual a State of the Region event which will take place on December 15th, 2008, as well as a pilot Boards and Commissions Leadership Institute and Speakers/Writers Bureau, which we will launch in 2009.
Our detailed 2008-2009 Strategic Plan is now available online for your review. We sincerely appreciate your continued support, and look forward to working with you in a deeper way over the coming years.
